Facilities best practice

Getting the best out of 12handz's facility calendar depends on how you use your facilities. Our experts have written the best usage according to the following use cases:

  1. Several facilities offering the same service (many to one)
  2. A single facility offering different types of services (one to many)
  3. Several facilities offering different types of services (many to many)

Several facilities offering the same service

For this example, we own a tanning salon and have 10 identical tanning beds, each offering the same 15 minutes tanning session.

  1. For each tanning bed we will create a calendar, naming them Tanning bed #1, Tanning bed #2... Tanning bed #10
  2. Next we will create a service:
    Tanning bed (Booking) – 15 min \ $15
  3. Then we will assign this service to all the different calendars

A single facility offering different types of services

For this example, we own a recording studio. The studio can be booked for sessions of different lengths and prices.

  1. We will create a facility calendar for the studio, naming it Studio #1
  2. Next we will create different services (time slots)
    a. 1-hour session \ $100
    b. 2-hour session \ $190
    c. 9-hour session \ $800
  3. Then we will assign these services to the studio calendar

These services will be available for your clients to book from your website. If not enabled online, it will be available for calendar scheduling only by staff using Create a new appointment.

Several facilities offering different types of services

For this example, we own a tanning salon and have 10 tanning beds.

  1. For each tanning bed, we will create a calendar, naming then Tanning bed #1, Tanning bed #2... Tanning bed #10
  2. Next we will create 3 different services:
    a. Tanning bed (Booking) – 5 min \ $5
    b. Tanning bed (Booking) – 10 min \ $10
    c. Tanning bed (Booking) – 15 min \ $15
  3. Assign all the relevant services to each calendar

When a specific facility has a different price than other facilities, a separate service should be created for it.
